Trapezoid

Formed in 2023 by Jez Creek of Modulator ESP & Mixup of Sharp Thorns who both use VCS3 Synthesizers for sonic exploration.

Trapezoid are Stephen Howard (Mixup) and Jez Creek, they perform improvised electronic soundscapes using old EMS VCS3 synthesizers, they feel that their performances, which can be quite abstract and chaotic, are a collaboration between them and their synthesizers. It sometimes feels like a struggle, one that the synths often win!  

Mixup & Jez Creek have three current musical improvisational projects. As 'Cycling Envelope' using two minifreaks and effects. As 'Trapezoid' using two VCS3's and effects. As 'Cyclazoid' using two Minifreaks, two VCS3's and effects.  All their studio jams and public performances are completely live and improvised with no overdubs.
